Polyhydroxy acids (PHAs)

Polyhydroxy acids — gluconolactone and lactobionic acid among them — loosen dead cells on the skin's surface as AHAs do, but their larger molecules work more slowly and gently. They also hold moisture, so the skin stays comfortable. That makes them a choice for sensitive and dry skin, and for daily toners. Use sun protection while using them.
